Northern Geo Testing and Engineering (Northern Geo) is the northern division of CCMET Inc. The division head office and materials testing laboratory is located in Fort St. John of the beautiful Peace River District. This division has expanded to include an office and laboratory in Terrace of the North Coast and Skeena-Bulkley Valley region, as well as a North Vancouver office to provide local contact for our Lower Mainland based clients. Our facilities employ engineers, geoscientists, technologists and technicians serving northern British Columbia and beyond.
Our team specializes in geotechnical and materials engineering, engineering geology and environmental geoscience, and materials testing primarily for government agencies and developers in the construction industry for the urban, energy, mining, oil and gas, and transportation sectors.
Northern Geo’s professional staff are registered and in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia and Alberta (APEGBC, APEGA). Our technical staff are trained and tested under the strict guidelines of the Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) and are proud members of the Association of Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC). In addition to our qualified personnel, our materials testing laboratories house advance testing equipment for soils, concrete, asphalt and aggregate.

Working with a professional and skilled group of contractors including the Peace River Hydro Partners, Kleinfelder, Bird Construction, Atco, and Kikinaw Energy Services and numerous other clients, Northern Geo has been tasked with the roles of performing geotechnical engineering, instrumentation monitoring, grout, RCC, concrete, compaction, maximum index, and shotcrete testing.
Northern Geo’s team of qualified engineering and technical staff provide consulting and testing for the RCC mix trails, grout slurry wall and shotcrete mix trials, and Quality Control testing and inspection services.
Northern Geo is involved in the infrastructure and access for the Site C Project, in addition to the Workers’ Accommodation Camp, grout slurry walls, shotcrete tunnel lining, cofferdams, geotechnical instrumentation, RCC & CVC batch plants, aggregate production, Quality Control Laboratory, equipment maintenance building, Moberly River bridge, haul roads, and many other Site C projects.
